This story annoyed me so much with its strange mix of pig-headedness loyalty, strange-but-devastating secrets, sorrows and mix-ups.

And yet I thoroughly enjoyed it. I enjoyed it so much I actually cried at the end.

I don't know why. I vould not relate to Jane or Mr Rochester at all. I found very little romantic about this story (in my own definition of romance, that it). And I don't normally enjoy reading the first-peron puritanical writing style.
