Catherine is about to leave home for the first time. She is off to Bath with her good friends, the Allens. Catherine is a bit of a tomboy that only recently stopped scampering in the wilderness and scraping her knees. She is fond of novels, gothic, and especially Ann Radcliffe's Mysteries of Udolpho.
