Man, the more Jane Austin I read the more I realize that yes, indeed, I do love her and her silly plot lines that she takes so seriously that you cannot help but do the same, but that she needs a lot of work to make those plot lines fly.
Namely, acute observations of universal truths and strong likable characters. I am afraid poor Northanger Abby lacked them both.

Why does Northanger Abbey get such a bad rap? It was downright comedic - probably the funniest of Austen's novels! Catherine is sweet and ridiculous - kind of like a kid sister that you want to shake and hug at the same time ;)
