What Members Thought
A poor rural family faced with the death of the mother plans a journey to honor her dying wish. This was the least confusing aspect of the book - it's the one thing I'm sure of. After that, there is unhappiness, loneliness, possibly a fire, a theft, and a forbidden relationship, among other travesties.
