The right book at the right time. It was exactly what I wanted to read right now and I loved it.
Edited and improved review: I like books where the face of the world is eventually, slowly but definitely, shown to be different from what the world is really like. I liked this one. Wharton doesn't write happily-ever-after, she writes realistically. We can't predict how life will happen and we can't always know how our choices will affect us long term. One thing is for sure: We get older, we romanticize, we adapt. Time marches on. 61/1,001
