REREAD. I first read most of these stories decades ago, and multiple times, as part of either the Driftglass or Distant Stars collection (or, in the case of the title story, in one of the Dangerous Visions anthologies). short stories by the master sci-fi stylist himself. this book contains some of chip's best-known, award-winning stories. sure those are great, but i especially liked the other ones that i had read for the first time.
