I really like this author and I like the idea of this series, but the first book was a little off for me. I don't like that Cassie is dealing with everything internally! FGS, confide in someone already! I was practically yelling at her to stand up for herself! Also, Smith isn't writing much about Cassie's powers... This was good but I wouldn't say it was anything to rave about. The second part of the book The Captive Part 1 seemed to pick up the pace & I got much more interested in the story.
