This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. To view it, click here. I finally finished reading this book tonight. I started it a while ago, but read a few other books in the middle of this one.
It is a compilation of three books. It follows a group of teenagers with abilities. They get into some situations....and they learn to use their powers.
The first book was pretty good, it help my interest, but the second one lost me a bit. I was losing interest; that's why I read some other books....When I picked this back up, I was happy with the third book. I had been che I finally finished reading this book tonight. I was losing interest; that's why I read some other books....When I picked this back up, I was happy with the third book. I had been cheering for Gabriel, the psi vampire in the story, I was drawn to him, his dark side, but I knew he had the potential to do the right thing. He kept me guessing until the end, at one point I really thought that he was too far gone, but he proved me wrong. Kait is the lead girl, she is very interesting and she doesn't really grow with her ability until the third book. She uses her strength and ventures out, which was nice to see. She broke out of her shell and made the book much more interesting. Rob, the other leading guy in the story, (you know there is always a triangle. ) He was a good guy all the way through, at one point I found myself wishing he was hiding some dark secret, but he wasn't. He was genuinely good He was a healer and he came through in the end, giving Kait what she desperately needed. Lewis and Anna the other somewhat main characters, were warm and honorable. They didn't do anything really amazing, but they were consistent with their friendship and support.

The third book, The Passion, was so much better than the other two because it introduces more characters, they were mysterious, dark and very entertaining. The suspense in this one redeemed the series for me. I found myself really involved with this one, I couldn't put it down, sadly I could not say that with the other parts of the compilation.

Overall, I enjoyed the book(s), I don't think that I would read them again, just because it was a long way to the end...a lot of drawn out situations. But like all of LJ Smith's books, I was happy with the outcome, I think she is a very good author, and I look forward to reading more from her. I am anticipating the release of the next Night World... ...more

i liked this book but not like other book's l.j. smith has written. i loved how kaitlyn end up with gabriel i wanted then to end up together since when i started reading it. i just thought the book was okay. ...more

This book, or really bookS, was pretty good. I loved the story to it. And I LOVED the love story it. The whole Gabriel and Kait. I mean, Rob is great and all, but he's just...too nice. I love guys that nice, but also have that edge to them. Like Gabriel! ;D Overall, I really enjoyed this book. There were some parts that annoyed me, though, but not enough for me to dislike the whole book. ...more
