I have never been more disappointed with a series as I was in The Vampire Diaries: The Return. I absolutely loved the original 4 books of The Vampire Diaries. I have read them over and over and over again over the last 20 years. When the new series came out, I was worried. It took me a long time to read them because I was so worried about them not standing up to the originals. And sadly, I had every reason to worry. These books were borderline schizophrenic.
