I've watched the movie a million times, like many others, but have never read the book. What a gem, what a treasure, what a delight of word-play and imagery and just plain fun. Awesome.

I must confess, though: Buttercup is annoying as hell.

I read this for the 2015 PopSugar challenge. Liked the movie better than the book and am not rushing to encourage my kids to read this though they have already seen the movie with me. I liked the action of the movie though it was nice to get inside the character's heads better with the book. ...more

I will happily read this book again. It has everything you’d want in a fairy tale.

Goldman put all the best parts of the book in the screenplay. So, the moments I love the most in the film are here with more fun scenes and comic moments.

He interrupts the action to tell you something about the original book. It’s so cute. And...it has me thinking, was there actually an original book? Or is it all his own? I really don’t care because I love it that much. :-)
