I had already seen the movie so knew what to expect but thoroughly enjoyed the book too :) looking forward to reading the others in the trilogy.
Just couldn't get into this novel. Probably cause I didn't really like the characters or the settings. I ended up skipping to the end so I'll admit I missed a lot. Just couldn't care.
As far as the Christian versus agnostic themes go, I don't see how a child would be affected unless someone pointed it out to him. I am probably obtuse but it is not overtly evident to me. Kids wouldn't see it either. ...more
