I think I'd actually give this book 3.5 stars. I had heard so much about it that I finally decided to give in and read it. It was an interesting story and very interesting to learn about the culture of these Japanese Geishas. It wasn't my favorite book or anything, but I enjoyed it. ...more

This book was excellent. Made you wonder at all if it was a true story and also about how cultures differ.

How this society would not be accepted in the US, but is completely acceptable there.

I read quite a few years ago, as I was recovering from back surgery.

It was interesting to learn about how different a geisha life is.
