After the death of a famous and reclusive director dies, formerly disgraced journalist Scott McGrath becomes obsessed with investigating her last days, along with two people who encountered her in her final days. They talk to people who knew her, as well as diving into the darkness surrounding this mysterious horror director.

Even though there were plenty of problems with this book, I really enjoyed it. I found Cordova and Ashley to be such compelling characters that I really just wanted the investigation to continue. The pace of the book and the tone were spot on. The investigation starts off relatively slow and is just putting bits and pieces together, and the book is slow and building throughout this section. A clever suspenseful book that just got better and better as you turned the pages. Got really good after the first 200 pages so I am glad I stuck with it! I'm pretty amazed by the author's work in creating this story.
