I need to read this again!
4.5 stars? I don’t know—I think I need to read it again. There is a mystery here, but the more I started to figure out what was going on, the more I wanted go back and reread the whole thing. Interesting fantasy, with some very lush prose. The descriptions of the statues should not have been as captivating as they were. The beginning of the book felt very puzzle-y, and was dense in a way that took me a few tries to get through. 4.5
This was such a magical little read. I loved the character of Piranesi and his point of view. I cringed whenever he misread a situation because of his naivete but smiled at his sense of humor. A very enjoyable read.
