I really enjoyed this book. I came to love the characters and their stories. I didn't know anything about the occupation of the channel islands during world war two. It was a really interesting read. My only complaint was that it took me awhile to sort out all of the characters because the book was written entirely in letters but once I figured out who all the characters were I really enjoyed the book. I was so sad to read that the main author passed away before it was published. I think she wou ...more

I absolutely LOVED this book! When I started it, I was completely confused with all the letters going back and forth and had no clue who anyone was or what was going on. But I'm glad I kept reading because I quickly knew and loved the characters. What a fun story! ...more

Apparently the second time I read this but never logged the first time. Knew as soon as I started that I had read it before but could not remember how it ended so just read again. Love this book.
