this is a modern-day classic & all, but i'm not going to pretend that i really retained much of the story. i guess there is something about a man & a woman falling in love, but they can't be together for some reason that is probably fairly bogus in the grander scheme of things, but seems pretty valid in the moment (like, i think she is already engaged to someone else or something, which--BREAK THE ENGAGEMENT! maybe it's not proper or polite, but SO WHAT? you only live once). the woman goes on wi
