What Members Thought

In her afterward, the author stated she wanted to write a book that felt like a warm hug, like hot chocolate and raspberry jam.
She absolutely nailed it.
A very lovely, warm and cozy fantasy, with a spell shop disguised as a jam shop, sentient plants, a found family, merfolk and merhorses, and a sweet romance. This book absolutely made my Thanksgiving.

This book is an absolute delight. Funny, kind and just cozy. I adored it.

3.5 stars.
A cosy fantasy read with magical creatures and a sentient plant, with a splash of romance on the side.
The romance was actually my least favourite part of the book however, I didnt mind Larran himself, but the romance felt a bit tacked on for convenience. Did enjoy the librarian and research parts, and setting up a new life in a small village.

4.5 stars. This book was just what I needed.

There are some bits that I don't like, some of it felt a bit rushed and oversimplified, but all in all it's a lovely, warm book. It does make me happy :-)
