I don't "like" fantasy necessarily but I decided to read this. When the paperback came in the mail and it was 800 pages of fairly small print I definitely had a moment of intimidation. I fell in love with the characters though, lots of strong females and plenty of action.

Challenging read with all these assorted Houses. I always like a book that takes a genre that has been done by many authors and gives it a new twist. Anxious to see where Martin goes with it.
Mind: blown. Winter is coming. A++, loved it.
Thank goodness, it`s over. I am sorry to all fans, but the language in this book is really hard for me. Many slow parts, that are just boring, and they don`t have any sense. Just because there are a lot of descriptions without any further development. I still enjoyed TV show, and would like to read all books. But first certainly has its flows. We`ll see, how it goes with the rest.
