Knowing that this was written to be enjoyed by ten year olds, I have to say Madeleine L'Engle is quite clever and justly rewarded for the the remarkable messages this book sends to its readers. The story is layered and complex enough for a young reader to understand and at the same time very compelling for adults. I see myself enjoying this book again
