touching, but I had a hard time getting into the book. The heavy descriptions sometimes distracted me from the plot, and the writing reminded me of 'water for elephants'.

The book's about Henry DeTamble, a "dashing librarian" who travels involuntarily through time, and Clare Abshire, an artist whose life takes a natural sequential course. Henry and Clare have a "passionate love affair endur[ing] across a sea of time and captures the two lovers in an impossibly romantic trap".

It was really hard-going and not as accessible as the movie. I didn't like Clare's relationship with Gomez, I don't think it added to the story in any way.
