Too much violence - so only one star from me.
It is hard to read a book without a likable main character. Like many others, I expected to like a 100-year-old man with the spunk to climb out a window at the old folks home and actually get away with disappearing into society.

The premise for this was good, but I fear that the translation made this the slowest and more boring book I have attempted to read for some time. It had no pick up, it was written as if I was a 100 year old trying to make the story last forever. And forever it did, I made it 100 pages and could take no more.

"The 100-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared," Allan Karlsson, resembles a Swedish, Forrest Gump. While not having an opinion about politics or religion, he ends with some involvement in world changing events.
I really enjoyed the beginning of the body, the humor was delightful, and the modern day story enjoyable. However, some parts of the book were too detailed, too long, and I lost interest. ...more
