I really waffled over 4 and 5 stars on this one. I finally rounded up because I DID read this in just over a day, which is pretty good for the length of the book. Overall, I really enjoyed listening to this book about Matthew and Diana and I thought the narrator did an excellent job. I loved her effortless movement from different voices and accents (although her southern accent needs some work, lol). This book was sooo disappointing. I admit that I picked it up because I saw that Matthew Goode was in the TV series, but I also did so because it seemed to have good reviews on Goodreads.
The Anecdotes of science and history were well-researched and the only interesting part of the story. There was very little happening in this story, and especially for a 500 page novel. There wasn’t much of a mystery, and the story Simply jumped from place to place without much intrigue or conflict.

I loved this book! It's like a grown-up and more sophisticated version of Twilight, with a strong female witch as the main character, surrounded by a host of Witches, vampires, daemons and humans. Lots of romance, plenty of mystery and suspense and nice touches of historical references.
