Meh. I know this book is beloved in many corners. But I had no idea what to expect so I went in completely open. I will give it points for imagination, I thought over and over what a great movie this would make. What I thought was going to be the plot, about the contest between the magicians had such promise, but ultimately it fizzled. I was totally confused by the timeline, its 1887, its 1902, I didn't bother to try to keep it straight after awhile. Overall I didn't get the point, was pretty bo

I don't like it as much as Starless Sea, but it is excellent, wonderful... I love it :-)
