I've been thinking of buying a goat for my colleague at work, as a joke of course, after she confessed one evening at the bar that she hates goats with a passion. Goats have become a running joke at the office. Rick Deckard's live goat as status symbol is awesomeness.

I really enjoyed this book a lot more than I was expecting, partly because I was expecting something rather obscure and abstract, the way some sci-fi books of this era were (think the Dune Series or Neal Stephenson). I’ve never read this book, but I did watch the movie, maybe 20 years ago, and while I don’t remember that much, I do remember I liked it (perhaps partly because of Harrison Ford) and that some of it was ambiguous in its meaning. A very easy & interesting read. I have since watched Blade Runner for the first time, too, which viewing I'm sure benefited from have read this book. (Yes, I had never seen the movie in all these years.) Glad I finally got around to this: no idea why had had such a hard time with it on previous occasions over the years, must have been in the wrong frame of mind, I suppose.
