I think it’s got a great storyline and the idea of Morganville is brilliant. This promises to be a brilliant series.
I found that I loved the four main characters. Claire, Shane, Michael and Eve were awesome. They were each unique, with their own personalities and ideas. I thought it was awesome how Michael, Shane and Eve accepted Claire so openly, treating her right from the start and welcoming her I really enjoyed this book. I started it and read it in one sitting; not wanting to put it down.

I thought it was awesome how Michael, Shane and Eve accepted Claire so openly, treating her right from the start and welcoming her in with open arms. They really made her a part of their little family straight away, and I thought it was brilliant how they all seemed to get along so amazingly well.
I found I really liked Claire. Unlike a lot of heroines nowadays who are always strong and perfect, she was very realistic and life like. She’s the type of girl you’d expect to meet on the street. Someone normal and ordinary, and yet there’s something about her; a spark, an inner strength that made me adore her. I don’t doubt that she’d do whatever necessarily to protect the people she cares for and I think she’s stronger than people believe she is. I can certainly see her changing and evolving over the course of the series.
And Shane. Ahhhh, Shane. He was hot. He’s the type of guy I love, sharp tongued with a hint of bad boy thrown in. However he also has a softer side and I really believe that he cares about Claire. He treats her like a friend and yet there’s obviously the potential for something else between them.
I loved the part where they had their first kiss. It was hot and the chemistry between them was wonderful. I can defiantly see them becoming something very real and strong in the future.

And I loved Eve. The moment she appeared in the book, offering comfort to Claire, a complete stranger, I knew she was going to be a sweetie. She’s kind and quirky and really someone who would be a loyal and honest friend to Claire.
And she and Michael are so adorable. I liked Michael. He was a cool headed and a strong leader. I love the way he and Shane interact; best buddies and I think Michael and Eve would make such a cute couple. I’m so glad they both like each other and I’m hoping that they act on those feelings in the other books. I think it’s very interesting, his situation. The fact that he’s some kind of “ghost” where he’s solid only from dusk until dawn and he’s tied to the Glass House the way he is, is very interesting. It’s something I’m really hoping we get to explore more. I want to know just what it means.
I thought the ending of this book was brilliant! It ends on a cliff-hanger that leaves me dying to know what Shane’s father does for a living and what will happen to Michael.

Now.....on to the next book!

If you like a vampire book that pretty much stick to the old rules of vampire folklore you'll like this one. In this book vampires rule the town called Morganville and they're the villains of the story. Vampires can't go out at day, they're vulnerable against crosses, holy water, garlic etc.

You can also relate to the story because the setting was like in a dorm house called the Glass House (Claire, Eve, Shane and Michael live together) and I really like the characters too:

Wonderfully written and brought to life. I love the fact that Caine wrote a supposedly 'YA' Vampire novel, that wasn't childish in any way. It lacked the cheesy, flowery dialogue that many of the books lumped into that genre' seem to favor. This story was smart, fast paced, believable and kept me up reading far too late last night.

In my opinion, this was just as good as Twilight, but had a much more adult edge to it (which i loved).

this was the first book i read in a whole night.. i stayed up till after sunrise to finish it
amazing book, good plotline and very good relationships with the characters. Shane, Michael and Eve are very nice and form a quick bond with Claire and take her on as their own. Shane is relli cute, so he acts like the protector.. and poor Michael, i bet he just feels so helpless that he cant do anything- i wonder wen he turns into a vampire..?
