I liked this book better than the first one.
The story line is better in Magic Burns:
When Kate tries to find the stolen maps of the Shapeshifter Pack of Atlanta on the way she Crosses paths with Bran an evil-seductive-warrior-in the end-turned-good who worships Morgan the Celtic goddess and also she takes charge of a thirteen year old homeless girl who is looking for her mother. I really enjoyed this one, it was a bit slow to begin with, with a lot of internal Kate banter but once she started interacting with the other characters it was great. And boy to Kate and Curren make me laugh!
I also loved that the chapters were shorter since I'm fanatical about ONLY stopping when a chapter ends it made it easier to fit in other activities like; eating and breathing. ...more

Must be my 4th or 5th reread. I'm always so excited when it's been long enough for me to pick the Kate Daniel's series up again - as in I've forgotten some of it so I can justify going back it. I just inhale these books.

The first book didn't really sell me. The world building was interseting, but it didn't really click as one of those books that I would've died without reading. In fact, I only read this one because I h
