I felt like the second installment was better from the first since you kind of drawn to this vampire world and you already know the structures and rules and stuff. Besides unlike the first one, the story is less like Gossip Girl wherein the story for the most part evolves in these gossips between Lissa, Rose and Mia, and well the plot kind of improved in my opinion.

This had been a solid 3 star book for me up until the final 40 pages or so, when the emotional intensity went through the roof. The last act of Frostbite alone was well worth a 4 star rating.

I spent much of this book not liking Rose. She comes off as being very obnoxious and narcissistic to me (an un-popular opinion in the fandom, I know). This book picks up at St.Valdmir the school for vampires where Rose and Dimitri goes out to this place where Rose her to take her Guardian test to find a royal family killed by their enemies. Rose and Dimitri has to go back to the school and inform them of there findings. In the mean time the school put the Guardians on high alert and locks down the school.

Super great follow up! Meed does a great job of allowing the reader to really picce every part of a scene while you are reading! Better that the first because there was more depth in the characters and their relationships with others and themselves.
