Extras (Uglies, #4) in The Mortal Instruments

I honestly think this book is a waste of time. Scott Westerfeld should have left this series as a trilogy. Extras is supposed to be 10 or so years after Specials ended. BUT neither Tally or David are the main characters. Westerfeld introduces a new character named Asa who is only interested in boosting her "Face Rank" in other words she is dying to be popular. Someone people talk about, and she needs a good story to do that. She wants to find Tally Youngblood, and turn her into that story. He br ...more

This one was a bit difficult to enjoy....

This book follows Aya on her rise to fame whilst saving the world...uh-hhmmm

I have a few issues with it though –

Firstly, as a part of a series, you expect some type of continuation from the prior books of the series. Instead we are introduced to Aya - 3 years after Tally has gone rogue. I couldn't even finish this book because it was so boring. It kinda put me on edge becuase I was guessing that it was gonna be exatly like the previous bboks, but then I noticed that there were new main characters. And I'm like "OK. Maybe it will better this time." Well, I thought wrong. It was so boring I didn't even finish it. I read half of t and just gave up for all the times I fell asleep reading it.
