I really like "The Uglies", but I didn't like the overall series. It just really repeats itself. And that kinda pissed meoff. I hate books that do that. You will always know what is gonna happen until the series ends. Tally is a great character though. And I love all the poeple she falls in love with. Her friends are cool too. I loved this book. I wasn't one of those stories that drew me in from the very beginning... it was more gradual. But once I was in it, I couldn't put it down. The world Westerfeld paints is confusing at first, but I think that lines up with the protagonist's understanding. There is depth in this story and the commentary on the dangers of physical obsession on society were clear without feeling like a sermon.

Wow this is amazing!!!! My friend from camp told me to read this and I didn't until recently and now I love it!! Can't wait to read Pretties and I hope that after all this time David comes to get and she still wants to get rid of the lesions and help the Smokies I guess I won't know until after reading all the books...=P
