What Members Thought
Really enjoyed her story. Her writing style was unemotional and in many ways understated - without too much analysis or explanation of feelings - just here's what happened and how I responded. I tend to get emotional at times when reading memoirs and despite the insanity, it wasn't until the last few pages as she was describing their Thanksgiving meal that I found tears in my eyes. Great memoir. Well written.

I liked this book- It is crazy to think that there are families who live this way and Children who must learn to be strong because they have no other choice. The subject matter is hard, but the author seems so non-emotional about it that, what could have been a tearjerker is more of a shake your head in amazement sort of thing.
Amazing account of survival in a home with mentally ill and alcoholic parents.
