Well, Matched was a good book but as far as Dystopian books go, it wasn't that good a Dystopian book. I agree that it's horrible to have no control over who you love, your job, what you eat, where you live or when you die. It's taking the whole of the free choice thing out of the situation. Some of the things however seemed pretty cool however, like the air trains, who cool did they sound!? What if you lived in a society that decides everything for you: where you work, who you love, when you die? Cassia does. She always went along with what the society told her. They were never wrong. But in this story Cassia finds that sometimes you have to follow your heart even if it is not what is “correct”.

This book takes place in a future time. Cassia lives in a society that decides everything. Including when you die, this for everyone is at age eighty. But outside the society is a dangerous What if you lived in a society that decides everything for you: where you work, who you love, when you die? Cassia does. She always went along with what the society told her. They were never wrong. But in this story Cassia finds that sometimes you have to follow your heart even if it is not what is “correct”.

This book takes place in a future time. Cassia lives in a society that decides everything. Including when you die, this for everyone is at age eighty. But outside the society is a dangerous land where no one ever lives to age eighty.

The main character of this book is Cassia Reyes. Then there is Xander Carrow. He is the “golden boy”. He has looks, brains, and abilities. He is Cassia’s childhood friend and to everyone’s surprise, her match (as decided by society). But then there is Ky. He is a mystery. When Cassia goes to view her match’s data, Ky’s face appears. The officials insure her that it was a mistake, because there is no way that Ky could even have a match. He is an aberration, someone that has committed, or parents committed in Ky’s case, an infraction against the society. They are still kept within the city and very few people know of their status. But because of that
mistake in the system Cassia is tempted to learn more about Ky.

In this book Cassia struggles to decide which boy she loves more. She could go with Xander, who was her childhood friend and her match. Or, she could go with Ky, which would be against the rules of society, yet in some ways it feels worth it to her. Ky is a mystery but one she loves. Cassia can’t stop thinking about Ky, and as they slowly fall in love, Cassia begins to doubt the Society and is faced with an impossible choice: between Xander and Ky, between the only life she’s known and a path that no one else has dared to follow.

I personally loved this book. I would recommend it to anyone who liked The Hunger Games. But this book has much less violence and more romance. The idea of the over ruling society is still there. There is hint of rebellion. This book is the first in a trilogy by Allie Condie. ...more

This was just an okay book!! I expected a lot more from this book! I wasn't hooked at all! It was real slow for me! It wasn't horrible could of been better! Hopefully Crossed will be better! ...more
