Man oh man am I glad I bought the omnibus. I read the first book BLOOD WARRIOR and then lamented that my book budget was at a limit and moved on from the book to other books in my TBR that were sitting and waiting for me. I've been dying to get back to Alexa and Nelly and bought the omnibus right before leaving on vacation.

I cannot tell you enough: buy this as the omnibus. Buy all four books at once or you will hate yourself. DO IT. Now.

I received this book from the author in one of the groups I am a member of on goodreads, in exchange for my honest review. I really enjoyed book one so I didn't have any problem diving into this next installment.

It picks up directly where we left off. Alexa has just left Two Rivers in search of her mother. The beginning of this book moved quickly. Alexa going through a series of events that leads to a great change in her. Soon things get even better when Kayden shows up.

The second book in the Alexa Montgomery series picks up right where the first one left off. In this book we get to see Alexa grow into her role as a Sun Warrior. It is a difficult struggle for her, though, to embrace her destiny and accept what she sees as a monster inside of her. We also got to see her grow as a person as she searches out her feelings for Kayden.

I loved that we got Nelly's POV in this book. She is a great character and you can see, though she did not play a big role in book one

These books are fast becoming an addiction! Fantastic story telling with characters that are well written. The pacing is fast with action, suspense and some drama all wrapped up and ready for you to delve into this realm.
Such a great read that the moment I finished this book, I purchased the last two in the series. Off to immerse myself in this world that has captured my imagination!

Half Black Soul picks up where Blood Warrior left off and catapults you to a whole other degree of action packed adventure. I loved the change of scenery and while disconcerting initially, the change in perspectives from Nelly to Alexa. There are more than a few surprises in this second installment of the Blood Warrior saga. It is rare when a YA paranormal novel surprises me, but Gordon did it in spades with Half Black Soul. This was such a quick, rapid and addictive read, I didn't want to put i ...more
