THIS IS THE STORY OF A NARCISSIST-WITH-A-SAVIOR-COMPLEX, who, regardless of what happens to good people, gets all the rewards instead of a proper comeuppance.

At the end of Book 2, the desk had the barrier around it - here, he can get to the desk. End of Book 2, his clothes were clean, 'colorless', like the wall; now, they're the same dirty ones he's been wearing all along. Inconsistent. And it didn't turn out to be a mind trick.

Written VERY simplistically and definitely not sophisticated, the short chapter interrupts the 'action', chops events up irrationally. Sometimes the action follows a second by second recounting of very mundane matters, which, again, slows down the action, instead of moving it along.

The reasons and methods given for this grand experiment are faulty and certainly NOT how a scientist or psychologist, et al, would carry on such a project. Some of the correct keywords are used, in an attempt to appear authentic, but it fails. If any doctor or scientist truly followed their experiment in this manner, not only would he be fired, no one would every hire him again!

One more thins that has bothered me in this entire series: if someone dies, it's noted that if Thomas didn't know him (in a group of 30, that's not very likely), then it's okay. No problem. Sympathetic the boy is not! and who doesn't get to know people in that small of a group?

Flawed series, so flawed. And I'm disappointed, not something I usually admit to. Iv'e read worse series, worse books… but not many.

5 stars among 3 books; that's just over 1 star each. And I have the Prequel yet to read. I don't expect much at this point, but I have this "thing" about reading ALL the books in a series…

Disappointing. That is pretty much all I have to say for this book without giving it away. I was overly unenthusiastic about how the characters had become, especially towards one another. And DON’T even get me started with the ending.
