“Even in the Future the Story Begins with Once Upon a Time.”

I'm oddly late to this hype party. As I watch BookTube there was (and still is) a lot of hype surrounding The Lunar Chronicles, and Marissa Meyer's books in general. Like every other hyped book I'm frightened of them, because I build up my expectations and sometimes they get crushed.

Shelves: scifi-fiction, distopias, retelings

"Cinder" parecia um livro interessante.... Oferecendo uma nova visão da história da gata borralheira. Só que esta Cinderela é uma cyborg, uma famosa mecânica da Nova Pequim.
Achei a temática interessante. E encontrei alguns elementos do conto de fadas original. Podemos encontrar a madrasta, que nesta caso é a sua guardiã legal, que continua a maltrata-la. E clara também temos o famoso príncipe.
Contudo esta história não me cativou como esperava. Não encontro nesta Cinderela a sua vontade de sonh ...more

Adorei este livro! Adorei o uso de um conto de fadas num universo futurista, acho que foi uma ideia muito original, diferente da grande maioria das distopias que tenho lido. Este universo cativou-me bastante, estou ansiosa por saber o que vai acontecer nos próximos livros, é, sem dúvida, uma série que pretendo continuar a acompanhar

Eu adorei mesmo conhecer mais da história da Cinder. Espero muito dela nos próximos livros!

Cinder was an interesting story... a Love Story in a Distopyan world - devastaded by a Plague - full of Humans, Royals, Androids, Cyborgs and Lunars - Aliens from the moon - Luna - who are capable of controlling other people's feelings and will :)

even though the story is based in the Cinderella fairytale... it is really, just very losely based in it... it's very different and original :)

I liked most parts of it... BUT I just didn't really feel the connetion between Cinder and Prince Ka ...more
