What Members Thought

The idea of Greek gods was good. The idea of their half blood kids was even better. Sadly, this brilliant idea was poorly executed. That Percy was able to defeat the god of war even before he had finished a year of training makes me wonder how being a demigod is hard at all. Here are my list of flaws in this book:
1)Abrupt beginning. Hardly ten pages into the book Percy has to fight his teacher. Too sudden
2)Thin plot
3)Poor character developement
4)The fights were too easy which made them unrealist ...more

This book was good, but not great or awesome. Some books are addicting, like if you read the first book, then you have to read the next installments of the series. But for this series, I was like, "ok! It was good. :D But I will read the next book when I will have some extra free time." So I liked it, But not loved it! =]

This book is probably the best and most memorable one I have ever read. It's not my favorite, which belongs to Divergent or Maze Runner, but I feel like it really started something for me.
About 4 years ago, I hated reading. But, I had to read one book over the summer, so I went down to Borders and asked for a reccomendation. He said the Lightning Theif was a good book (I was going into 5th grade I think) so I took the recommendation, went home, and reluctantly started reading... and thus began ...more
