What Members Thought

So I know that a lot of people are die hard Will girls - and I will admit that he broke my heart at the end of this book - but Jem is just too adorable for words. Anyway, on with the review.
Once again I am just shocked at how much better these books are than the Mortal Instruments series. I really love the setting and tone of these books - the old feel of London, carriages to get to places, gentlemen, just everything about it is so easy to visualize. And I think this really adds to the story sin ...more

I continue to be surprised at how quickly I finished this book. The last time I finished a book this quick and enjoyed it was when I read The Great Zoo of China, which is a fast-paced action thriller. After reading it, I found it quite hard to get back into reading other genres, but this book has been quite fast-paced enough and full of unexpected twists and turns.
In addition to that, I guess the most annoying question that keeps me pushing on, ignoring almost everything but the book, is "What i ...more

Sigh, will I ever make it through the end of this book without crying?
Will I ever not fear the end of this book because I know that Clockwork Princess is next, and while it's one of my favorite books of all time, it breaks me completely?
This reread has lightened me up to Jem, probably because I have read the entirety of TMI, the books of TDA, and SotD. I've gotten to know Jem/Brother Zachariah more, and his love for his parabatai is enough to make my heart melt.

Even better than the first IMO. Hope we'll be seeing some more of Woolsey Scott in the next book, I absolutely loved his character!

I normally would try to compare the second book to the first, but in this case, I can't. They are both amazingly good. Some twists in this one that I never would have expected. I definitely can't wait for the next one. Especially after that ending.
