Great storytelling! I kept thinking this was a true story translated into English, that’s how well the author wrote it.
Two important points:
-I am jealous of the lovely kimonos the author depicted. Want my own collection now.
-The only thing the novel was missing was more sushi eating.
The ending made me wonder what Sayuri’s life would have been like if she had made more honorable choices and less selfish ones. I guess that’s the question we all as human beings will eventually have to answer.
