This is such an amazing book! I read it years ago, before I was on GR and loved it then too!
I really didn't like this book, although it was well written. This book tells about child rape and abuse and the things that make an African American girl want to be physically different than what she is. I couldn't really stomach the child rape part. That's why I won't recommend it.
