What Members Thought
Although the real history that inspired this book brought me to tears many many times while reading, I felt that the writing style did not fully do justice to the atrocities that would have been committed. I felt as though the author was not fully able to adequately write from the perspective of a 12-year old. Also, I was just not interested in the politics taking place. I just don't really understand how that fits in to the whole story. It felt like it minimized the importance of Rill's story.

This was a fine historical piece. And so sad when it's based on real events. The description of the taking of the children was anxiety inducing.
