Who doesn't love this book?! At its heart, this novel is a celebration of knowledge and the magical unknown, wrapped in the warm embrace of a well-crafted narrative.

I had a hard time getting into this book. There was a lot of fluff to muddle through. I found myself skimming a lot of the paragraphs. Then something interesting happened and I couldn't put it down. I was able to finish on vacation when I could focus on it. Once I got through the 500+ pages I found myself wanting to grab the next book to see what happens. I read a few reviews once I finished it and a few complained that it ends with nothing resolved. That is true however it is a trilogy and this ...more
