Scripture scholars have long used concordances (lists of words and their appearances throughout the book) to study and translate the Bible. If a scholar were to take a similar approach with this tome, he or she would think a pince-nez was of much more importance. (In the first, volume it would be the phrase, "Why was she so stubborn." ) Of course, I alternated between reading the Kindle edition and listening to the included audio (so convenient when you need to be working at something else).
