Well. I came back to it, and it's still just massively depressing. I get the importance of the themes and there are some important points made here; there's also a slew of cultural references that I understand now (as opposed to just recognize where they come from). And yet...it's not one I would read again or a book I would readily recommend. I also didn't quite finish it--rats? NO thank you. Stopped there and read the Cliffs notes version of the end. That was plenty good for me on this one.
