Incredibly poorly written book. Why it's so huge is a mystery to me. This guy makes Clive Cussler look gifted. What really gets to me is his faux-intense sentence & paragraph structure.

Everyone said this one was sad. And it was, but it was also moving and beautiful and captivating. I ended up finishing it on the same day I started it. Also, it wasn't the most gut-wrenching book I've read. I can't wait to read A Thousand Splendid Suns. One of the best books I've read in a while.

A good friend of mine lent me this novel and I am at loss on how I can describe it to you. It's fantastic yet not mind blowing, it is a brilliant narrative yet not riveting, it is...well I don't know how to explain. It is a really good read, a must read for all book lovers. A fictional novel based on the realities of Afghanistan's history, well constructed and an interesting plot.
