This is a recycled plot retold in an entertaining way. The standard backstory--An angel voluntarily takes on human form to experience the world and understand humanity. But this one picks up the character quite a while after the descent (thousands of years after), and after he has been married for a good fifty years. This one was almost good. It just bugged me a little while the author definately believes in angels, he has a somewhat skewed perspective on God. The Almighty is a caring father, not a popcorn eating detacted diety.
Did like Marlowe though. Wish the dumb dog demon in Katie MacAlister's dragon books would be as cool as Marlowe. ...more
