I really enjoyed this book and loved the alternating chapters between the two main characters Sarah and Handful. I also got educated with Sarah taking on a voice of her own not only to abolish slavery but for women's rights as well. I am not much of a fan fir historical fiction but this story definitely held my interest

I only give a book five stars when I think it's so good I would recommend it to practically everyone I know. This is that book. Carefully researched, beautifully written. That's all you need to know.
