What Members Thought
Before I even begin to summarise my thoughts on this book, I must start off by saying I am a huge fan of the author and was prepared to like the book no matter what. That doesn't mean I would have given it a 5-star anyway, but still, worth mentioning.

Through connecting vignettes I got a light sense of Afghanistan's history, without a feeling of a political agenda.
Each backward glance of a person's life and their, often astounding, connection to the present section's narrator is a bittersweet reflection.

I loved following Pari's story. In the second half though, (no spoilers), it seemed as though too many new stories and characters were introduced a little too late. Overall, a great read in Hosseini's usual gripping style.
