I loved this book and loved the authors's style. A very touching read.

One of those books that live with you while you read them & later too. I kept thinking of Ifem & Obenize even when I was doing not reading the book. The real depth of characters, their tentativeness, vulnerabilities & traits are so beautifully woven in this lovely narration. This is my first Chimamanda's & surely it's just the start.

Loved this book!! Moving book that deals with race and belonging, immigration, love, and the context in which we interpret our world. Serious topics but with a warm and witty way of writing about them. Started this as an audiobook but reread chapters in hard copy - not sure which I'd recommend - advantages to both.

Loved the different voices in the audiobook, and her writing and the lives of her characters were fascinating. The ending was very abrupt, though.

I'm torn.
Quality of writing and story crafting and provocative ideas - 5. But I just didn't enjoy reading it. I fully accept my lack of enjoyment is likely cultural. I didn't like any of the characters. From the outset I suspected the ending regarding the primary relationship in the story. And it bugged me. It made me not like the two characters involved.
However, I am glad I read it. It pushed me. It made me think. It broadened my perspective.
