I'm definitely rather ambivalent about this book. It was hyped up so much, I had high expectations of it, and it didn't meet any of them. I didn't especially enjoy the writing style, the structure of the book was frustrating, the endless lengthy random footnotes (and baffling lack of footnotes where they were most needed) was a pointless style statement and detracted from the book, and the story made me feel pretty much...nothing. So, what's all the fuss about? Really, I'm serious; if someone could explain it to me I might get why this won a Pulitzer Prize and why so many people recommended this book to me. I just didn't get the wow everyone else seem to have reading this.
