This is a hard one. It was a well timed read. It fitted with a Toppler task just after Ishiguro won the Nobel Prize for Lit. I really enjoyed Never Let Me Go. I was actually a bit shocked to find this book was actually set mostly in Japan.
It tells the story of one summer, in Nagasaki a few years after the bomb, of a friendship between Etsuko and Sachiko. And flicks between this summer of friendship and Etsuko in the 80s in England.

This story was a bit disconcerting and I had to go through other reviews to make sense of what I took away from the book.
