I expected a lot from this book. This one was recommended to me by a lot of people and I wanted to love it as much as they loved it but it just didn't work with me.

Set in the late 19th century rural West Africa, Things Fall Apart provides a glimpse into the Igbo society and their culture. While the book succeeds in fairly portraying the tribulations faced by the Igbo community and its stark contrast against the cruel european imperialism, it might come down heavy on some for the bare animism, brutal superstitions, sexism and social depravity pandemic in the tale.
